Due to the fact that our school district is facing budget reductions and is not anticipating any summer learning funding from the state, we are not in a position to provide a bonus for employees who support summer school this year. Our goal is to serve as many students as possible given the limited funding that we have, which will be fewer students than we have been able to provide for over the last several years.

Current District Regular and Temporary Employees (through June 30, 2024):

Background: 

K-8 Summer School and ESY will be held at Mid Valley Elementary; 9-12 Summer School and ESY be be held at Hood River Valley High School.  Summer School 2024 will run in the month of July, specific dates still need to be decided.  The number and type of positions is dependent on state funding and student enrollment.  

 

We need to hire Secretary 1's to work in and support the 2024 Summer School and ESY programs.  

   

The duties of Summer School Secretary 1 includes providing clerical support to assigned personnel; communicating information to staff, the public, and other districts; orienting assigned personnel to their job requirements; ensuring compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements; and providing information and/or direction as may be requested.

 

The number and type of positions is dependent on state funding and student enrollment.  

 

Qualifications: 

Pay will be based on the 2024/25 Classified Salary Schedule.  If you are currently a Secretary 1, you will receive your Secretary hourly pay; if you are not in a Secretary 1, you will be paid step 1 of the Secretary 1 classification for the hours you work for Summer School.
